MEET Dr. Gary Sasaki & Dr. Monica Hadechny

DR. GARY SASAKI DDS, MS

Gary Sasaki's history is rooted in Detroit, Michigan. He grew up in Detroit, and received his Doctorate of Dental Science degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy. Before establishing his community practice in Ypsilanti, Michigan, he also taught at the University of Detroit-Mercy. Dr. Sasaki continued teaching until 1979, when he decided to pursue a post-graduate education at the University of Michigan, gaining a Master's degree in Crown and Bridge dentistry. He then continued teaching part-time, this time at the School of Dentistry for the University of Michigan until 1989.

Dr. Sasaki has continued this educational relationship with U of M and U of D as a guest speaker, and has many hours of continuing education credits in all phases of dentistry.

He has been married for 25 years and has two children in college. As an upstanding member of the community and the American Dental Association, you can expect nothing but the best, most conscientious care from him. As well as a deep commitment to honesty and integrity, Dr. Sasaki is proud of the high quality of dentistry our office can provide.

DR. MONICA HADECHNY DDS, MS

Dr. Hadechny attained a Master's degree in restorative dentistry at the University of Michigan. While completing her degree requirements, she was appointed as an adjunct lecturer at the University's dental school. She currently teaches restorative dentistry at the pre-clinical and clinical levels two days a week and very much enjoys this interaction with students and their learning process.

Dr. Hadechny has also been active in the research aspect of dentistry. Of three research projects that she has been actively involved in, one led to a presentation at the International Academy of Dental Research (IADR) in Vancouver, B.C. March of 1999. Her special area of interest is restorative dentistry with an emphasis in esthetics. She enjoys treating patients of diverse backgrounds and is fluent in English and Spanish. Her pleasant and outgoing personality and professionalism are perfectly suited for a career in dentistry.
